How can believing in Karma change your life?

How can believing in Karma change your life?

Karma essentially means what goes around, comes around. This is called causality and is a recurring theme in Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist schools of thought. The theory of karma is that one’s actions affect your life in your present life and your life in the future. Good deeds lead to reaping good deeds; bad deeds will lead to receiving bad deeds. The effect of Karma may not be felt immediately; it may be felt later in life or in another life.

For example, if you were a thief and stole from others in your current life, something will be stolen from you either in this life or in your next life. This means someone else will need to become a thief and steal from another. It would become a never-ending cycle of thieves!

Some Hindus believe that Karma will be exacted in your next life and you will be reborn as an animal or a vegetable.

The truth of the matter is that believing in Karma can change your life. By believing that you will reap what you sow, or what goes around, comes around, your spirit can change in that it is your heart that rules your behavior. Your deeds are actions that mirror your heart. Good heart leads to good deeds and the opposite is also true.
